She was serious. She actually thought that was what counted as an education. He rubbed at his forehead, scowling down at the floor as he tried to rationalize.

“I have no idea why I expected anything else, that woman has no sense of priority. Do you mean to tell me you have no magical education at all? It would seem I have my work cut out for me.”

Crinkled eyebrows, a look of pure confusion lit on her face. She had
knowledge of the basic reading && arithmetic, but were either      of
those even remotely more important than finding the perfect   prince
and BEAUTY? The thought was almost foreign to her.

Not really. Mother won’t allow me to handle her magic mirror, she fears I’ll break it. SPEAKING OF WHICH: I’ve been meaning to ask, how did you two meet? Every time I ask mom, she says it was during her era of desperation but I want the real story.

“Is there any good reason your mother can’t be bothered to let me see you more often?”

Loki looked over the young girl, gesturing with his hand that she should turn around to give him a better look. Doubtless she would need much prompting, given the woman who had raised her. The number of times Loki had heard about the havoc he had wreaked on that woman’s figure, it had been maddening.

“Tell me she’s at least made sure you’ve had a proper education.”

Do you want her EXACT words, or would you like me to sugar coat it?

kind of a brutally honest implication of what mommy dearest   actually
thought of the girl’s father. During the moments Evie would beg to hear
about the romantic stories of her progenitor’s past, all she got      was
groans, eye rolls and enough talk of that imbecile, Evelyn.

She taught me all that I need. From cooking, to cleaning, to sewing; how to properly pluck my eyebrows without leaving stray hair.

So I've got some mischief in my blood?
